Some Memories

“Amma intha annamunte eyyi”… this is the morning  raga for most of the children from slums meaning “madam give me some rice”… i hear this every day… from my bed… and might have seen 100s of people so far uttering the same line ( almost in same tune) all through my conscious age…

My observations states that all these are of age group 2-12 yrs.. and girls after 12yrs usually are married… and boys work in nearby factories and some may choose wrong routes to make money.

I was inspired when a govt school was opened for these.. after their normal search for food.. they used to attend the school and read.. not sure now how its going as i am mostly at office during that time.

I still wonder… with the efforts of GO and NGO spending huge funds for the development of these… the numbers keep emerging with little or no signs of improvement.

Atleast with Hanumakamalam i would like to see what best i can do to help them to become self sustain….need ideas if you can
